Humanity is terraforming earth, from a wilderness into a flourishing garden. The Food and Agriculture Organization is gently and respectfully leading the farmers of earth back to the family farming, capitalist democracy, world economy. The family farmers are small holders who grow a diverse assortment of crops. Instead of having giant corporations growing monocultural crops. Domestic animals are treated humanely.
Small fields surrounded by rows of trees is much more sustainable than the mechanized corporate agribusiness that is raping the land and producing nutrient deserts all over the world. The high plains in North America and the Sahel in Africa are two region where Planting a lot of trees will bring many benefits. Breaking the wind, dropping their leaves and their roots churning the soil will help replenish the land.
High performance agricultural science and technology will replenish the soil and keep it in optimal condition from now on. Many small family farmers is a much more healthy and efficient agricultural ecosystem than a few greedy individuals hogging all the natural resources and economic rewards of the productivity of the people of earth.
We need the state to do its job and protect the people of earth from the bullies. We don’t want the state being a bully either. We want the state to proactively cultivate and preserve a natural and healthy, sustainable agricultural ecosystem for all the people of earth.
